Action Plan

The ICENECDEV’s Plastic Pollution Initiative Engaging Communities in Wouri Estuary and Gulf of Guinea–Edea- Kribi and West Coastline Limbe-Isobe-Batoke and Idenau , aims to eliminate the impacts of plastic in the coastlines and Cities by raising awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution and by advocating for the reduction of single-use plastics. This includes decreasing single-use plastics at the source and helping to ensure that all existing plastic is reused or recycled rather than being burned or ending up in landfills and the environment.
ICENECDEV’s Plastic Pollution Initiative includes both programmatic and policy work. The policy arm focuses on campaign efforts, which have led to hundreds of successful plastic pollution reduction actions and laws.

Testimonials

Plastic Free Africa has been a vital breath of fresh air for Limbe. Their workshops helped our community understand the threats plastic pollution poses to our beautiful coastline and the Gulf of Guinea. We've seen a remarkable decrease in plastic waste on our beaches, and the marine life seems to be thriving again. Thank you, Plastic Free Africa, for empowering us to protect our home. ~Mami Mbua, - Limbe, Cameroon!

Joining Plastic Free Africa's movement has been a win-win for my Kribi souvenir shop. We replaced plastic bags with locally-made fabric totes, and our customers love the unique, eco-friendly touch. Plastic Free Africa even connected us with talented artisans who craft these beautiful totes. Business is booming, and we're proud to be part of the solution to plastic pollution in the word. ~Joseph , Owner - Kribi Souvenirs.

Plastic Free Africa's programs are like a breath of fresh air in schools. They made learning about plastic pollution interactive and fun, inspiring me to take action. I convinced my classmates to organize beach clean-up drives, and together we've collected tons of plastic waste. Plastic Free Africa is showing us that young people can make a difference in protecting the Gulf of Guinea. ~Acha, Student - University of Buea
